How tiny metal beads could make chemotherapy more effective for brain tumours [Cancer Research UK]
They’re
tweaking the drug so that it’s inactive when given to the patient.
That’s until the drug reaches the implant: tiny beads made from the
metal palladium. These would be placed inside the brain around the area
where the tumour was removed during surgery. When the drug encounters
the metal, it gets switched on in the perfect place to potentially kill
any cancerous cells that might be left in the brain.

Can Amgen's new-and-improved Kyprolis kick-start myeloma sales? [FiercePharma]
Not
all of Kyprolis’ recent clinical trial performances have been as sunny,
however. In 2016, the drug’s growth prospects took a hit when a
combination of Kyprolis, melphalan and prednisone failed to top a
cocktail of melphalan, prednisone and Johnson & Johnson and Takeda’s
Velcade at improving survival among previously untreated patients.

Bad Documentary Review: Cancer Can Be Killed [Science-Based Medicine]
You
can view dozens of documentaries free of charge with Amazon Prime that
support anti-vaccine views, peddle unproven cancer therapies, and all
other sorts of nonsense. Which brings me to a documentary called Cancer
Can Be Killed. Cancer Can Be Killed was produced by Jeff Witzeman and
released in the summer of 2017.

Mapping Open Science Tools [The Scholarly Kitchen]
In
this review of scholarly tools, I evaluated the discipline specialty or
neutrality in open science workflow solutions. I was surprised to see
that 100% of open science tools for the outreach and promotional phase
aim to be discipline agnostic. Whereas, data analysis and publication
tools favor STM research.
