The
e-cigarette regulations, introduced by State Senator Mark Leno, a
Democrat from San Francisco, would ban use of the devices, also known as
vapor cigarettes or vapes, in the workplace, at schools and other
places where cigarettes already are forbidden, and would require that
they be sold in child-resistant packaging.

Eli Lilly's marginal cancer drug becomes Exhibit A in pricing debate [FierceBiotech]

what they called a "highly sophisticated" pricing model, researchers at
Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and Georgia Institute of
Technology say they considered the benefits and the drawbacks and came
up with a fair market value of $563 to $1,309 per three-week cycle for
necitumumab--just a fraction of the six-figure annual prices that even
the most marginal cancer drugs like this can fetch.

Living With Cancer: Collateral Damage [NY Times]
Sexual
dysfunction and incontinence in prostate cancer survivors underscore a
quandary that shadows oncology. As we all realize, procedures that
prolong lives also impair them. Yet cancer patients who must forfeit
quality of life to gain quantity of life rarely receive adequate warning
before treatment or guidance afterward.
